Hi there, Glad everything seems to be going well for you & yours. I've been on holiday to Japan & fell in love with all the fabrics & papers they have there. They are sooooo much cheaper to buy there than Australia (where I come from). I love doing embroidery, sewing, patchwork/quilting, scrapbooking & any craft I can get my hands to work on, I suffer from arthritis in the hands, arms, neck, back & knees.... so these days a do a bit at a time so I can still enjoy my many pastimes & now looking after my grandson who is about to turn 9 months on on the 19th Aug, 2010. I still love coming here to see whats new & thought it's been a while since anyone wrote anything on here. Good luck in the future & if you ever need anyone to test your embroidery in HUS or XXX, I would love to help out, just email me.

Hi, I'm Shirley, a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I have one daughter of my own and two sons to whom I did not give birth but whom I love as dearly as if I had. They have between them seven bright, intelligent children who stole my heart the moment they were born. Then I've "adopted" two more grandchildren, one an American citizen born of Turkish Muslim parents and the other an American citizen born to the daughter of a Nigerian queen and Polish man who immigrated to Australia. They, too, are as dear to me as the other grandchildren. Victoria, the Nigerian-Polish young lady of 14 will stay with us during the Christmas school break. I love to sew and remember getting my first sewing kit at 2 years old and my first electric sewing machine at 6. My aunt taught me to embroider and my grandmother and mom taught me to sew. Grammie taught me to crochet and my mother taught me to knit. I can't knit any more--makes my hands swell too badly, nor can I embroider or crochet any longer because of my hands. So, I sew and use my embroidery machine. I love the designs on this site. They are creative and show an understanding of people and nature. Keep up the good work. You're a gem!
